The Novopeldaño ASTRA® Stella system is a technical solution that will  shine with its own light in the world of design, combining the aesthetics of  the ASTRA® material and the decoration of the ECLIPSE® indirect lighting.  It is a system that has 3 fundamental pieces: a main profile with a nonslip face made of the exclusive ASTRA® material, an anodized aluminum  base profile that gives the necessary resistance to the step, and which is prepared to house an LED strip and, finally, the screws that fix the base profile to the riser. The ASTRA® profile is fixed by means of adhesive to the flooring of the step and to the base profile (adhesive not included).
Available in five colors that integrate with the trendy finishes on the market or contrast with the flooring as desired, making it a perfect choice for both new construction and renovation and refurbishment, and with end caps for the perfect finish of the installation. The resistance of the step system has been tested at AIDIMME, exceeding 100,000 vertical load cycles without damage.

Application

EMAC®’s Novopeldaño ASTRA® Stella is a stair nosing profile suitable to be installed in all kind of environments, both outdoors and indoors. Its overlapped geometry facilitates its installation in new projects or reform works, contributing to renovate easily the environment. The base profile is made of robust aluminium and allows to install a LED strip, providing the set with indirect lighting. The system has been tested with fatigue test, obtaining excellent results.

Material

The Emac®’s ASTRA® material is an extra resistant polymer specially developed to obtain the best benefits in all kind of environments. Not only indoors but also in submerged or humid environments or outdoors. Thanks to the addition of biocides, which prevent from mold growing, it stands stable in humid and submerged environments. This material has a great impact resistance, improved in the formulation with several additives and a perfect balance of mineral reinforcer, which allows its use in floorings with guarantees.
The colors available are stable and durable, thanks to the studied dosage of maximum solidity dyes, preserving its appearance over time. Manufactured by aluminum extrusion. The finish is anodized. This process improves corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and appearance. The anodizing process is regulated by the Qualanod quality seal, which guarantees the quality of the process and the resulting profiles. This seal regulates appearance and color tests, thickness measurements, sealing and impregnation control, abrasion resistance, light fastness, acetic saline chamber and immersion in nitric acid.

Installation

1. Clean the surface where the Novopeldaño ASTRA® Stella system is to be installed.
2. Place the base profile of the Novopeldaño ASTRA® Stella in its location, flush with the tread and well aligned with the riser. Mark the position of the holes.
3. Remove the profile and drill the holes for the fasteners.
4. Replace the base profile and fix it with the supplied fasteners. Start at the edges and continue with the rest. Make sure that the profile is aligned and level.
5. Apply adhesive to both sides of the aluminum profile. Then apply adhesive to the back of the Novopeldaño ASTRA® Nori.
6. Attach the two pieces and press firmly to join the surfaces together.
7. Allow the adhesive to dry and remove any leftover work. Observe the drying time established by the adhesive manufacturer before walking on the product.
